Glenn Beck Strongly Recommends Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Today I was contacted by Cyclops from Aslan’s Country who recorded a segment from yesterday’s Glenn Beck television program where Glenn Beck strongly recommended The Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie. This was part of a “favorite things” episode. Glenn Beck called the Voyage of the Dawn Treader “Fantastic” and said the new Narnia movie was,”‘On par with the first if not better than the first.” Glenn Beck has read the Narnia books. As he talked about reading the series to his kids he held up a copy of the Magician’s Nephew and said,”It really is just about the creation of the earth and it’s Adam and Eve and everything else. You know completely disguised so adults like Liam Neeson can’t figure it out at all.” Glenn Beck said “It’s a tremendous tremendous series” and gave his audience members copies of the books as well as tickets to see The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Regardless of if you agree with Glenn Beck’s political views, he is an incredibly influential person and this endorsement will have a strong impact on the film’s word of mouth success.

Today @20thcenturyfox used Twitter to share links to three contests where Narnia fans can win props used in the filming of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. These contest are only open to US Residents. If you are lucky enough to win one of these props you must agree to never sell the prop. Fox wants to make sure that these props are given to real fans and not just people who want to earn some money off of them. The props that will be given away are Lord Octesian’s Shield, the necklace worn by Governor Gumpas, and the necklace worn by Pug.

Deadline estimates that The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has sold $9 million which would give the movie a projected opening weekend of $26.3 million. If Deadline’s numbers are accurate the Voyage of the Dawn Treader may not be successful enough for Fox to make more Narnia movies, but there is something you can do about it. Opening weekend sales are a critical way to measure the success of a film. If you would like to ensure that The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is a success and that more Narnia Movies are made I strongly advise you to see the movie this weekend.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was a very enjoyable film. The film was an entertaining character-centered movie, but it has several changes from the book. The characters of Eustace, Reepicheep, and Gael were fantastic. The music and cinematography were great. Overall this was a good movie, but it was not as amazing as the previous Narnia movies. The journey of waiting and anticipation has finally come to and end, it is now time for you to journey into your local movie theater and see this film opening weekend so that you can experience this movie for yourself in 3D.

This week three new international music videos for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader were released. Xander de Buisonje recorded a music video of his version of “There’s a Place for Us” for the Dutch version of the film. Sweedish band E.M.D. now has released their official music video for “There’s a Place for Us”. Sergey Lazarev’s recorded the song “Instantly” for the Russian/Ukrainian version of the film.
